Built in 1836 by the United Brethren, the Gadfield Elm Chapel is the world's oldest surviving Latter-day Saint chapel. Today, restored to its original glory, it stands as a lasting memory of mass conversions that took place there from 1840.

In 1840, around 600 members of the United Brethren living in and around the Gadfield Elm area made a historic decision to join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Their conversion played an important part in the early growth of the Church in Britain.

Step inside a building where faith, history and change came together nearly two centuries ago.
