Take a walk along the Old Mainline canal off the Brasshouse Lane Bridge at Smethwick and explore this little pumping station, which operated to regulate the water levels between the two canals.

Galton Valley Pumping Station once regulated the water levels between the Old Mainline and New Mainline canals in Smethwick. It is now a small museum telling the story of life and work on the canals, canals in Smethwick and its own role as a Pumping station.
