See original photographs and documents from founder's archive. Learn the history of the site including gruesome tales about Gallows Field.

Original materials from Dennis Harle's archive, the founder of Gazen Salts Nature Reserve in 1973, will be on displat. There will be self guide leaflets for those who wish to explore the reserve. Guides/volunteers will be on hand to assist.
Our volunteers will also be on hand to share the history of Gallows Field, where public executions were held. Felons were hanged & witches were drowned. It is believed the last hanging took place in the 1790s.
