An illustrated talk by Bob Purser about Beeby Thompson, a Northampton dignitary and local geologist.

Beeby Thompson was a founder member of the Natural History Society, Curator of Geology at Northampton Museum and the first Principal of the College of Science and the Arts in Abington Square. How did this tailor’s son from Creaton end up prospecting for oil in Angola, Brazil, Peru and Jamaica? Bob Purser will recount his journey from the Roade cutting to Joe’s River Clay in Barbados.
