Giggleswick School Chapel

Come and visit the iconic Giggleswick School Chapel, an inspiring building and a striking landmark of the Yorkshire Dales. With its impressive copper dome and beautifully crafted interior, the Chapel dominates the surrounding countryside and stands as a testament to both architectural vision and spiritual life.

The Chapel at Giggleswick School, near Settle, will open its doors to visitors on Sunday 20th September. From 11am onwards, volunteers will be available to welcome visitors, offer guided tours, and answer questions about this remarkable place.

Throughout the day, there will be a programme of musical performances from members of the school community, including recitals on the magnificent Henry Willis organ, filling the Chapel with rich and uplifting sound.

Built in 1897 as a gift to Giggleswick School from Walter Morrison of Malham, the Chapel commemorates the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. It is a rare and distinguished example of a building in which every element—from structure to decoration and furnishings—has been designed in complete harmony under the direction of a single architect, T. G. Jackson, one of the leading architects of his time.
