Gilbert White lived at The Wakes for much of his adult life seemingly alone. But Gilbert was never alone, his house was the home and the work place of servants we get fleeting glimpses of in letters account books and diaries.
In this free online talk Collections Manager Kimberley James will introduce you to Thomas Hoar, and Goody the weeding woman as well as some of the other local people that would have worked both in the house and out in the grounds.
