Godalming Museum
109a Godalming High Street, Godalming, Surrey, GU7 1AQ
Godalming Museum was founded in 1921 and is located opposite the Old Town Hall, known as the Pepperpot. The museum is a friendly and welcoming place for all to visit and tells the story of Godalming and the surrounding area. The fascinating galleries explore the way the town has developed since prehistoric times and tell the stories of famous Godalming residents such as garden designer Gertrude Jekyll, and the Titanic’s wireless operator Jack Phillips. The award winning garden, inspired by Gertrude Jekyll, offers visitors a place to sit and enjoy refreshments. Our September temporary exhibition Godalming in Miniature explores the town through the eyes of a local artist. During the weekend there will be opportunities for visitors (both young and old) to get involved in hands-on crafts inspired by the local paper-making and weaving industries.
