Grosvenor Museum Memory Boxes

Memory boxes are a tangible and heartfelt way to preserve, celebrate and cherish your memories.
General materials will be provided but please bring along your own memories to add to the boxes. You could include:
- Photographs from over the decades
- Key documents / photocopies of birth certificates etc
- Three-dimensional memorabilia such as earrings, sports medals, etc
- Newspaper cuttings
- Personal items from holidays / anniversaries
- Stamps from letters
- Letters / communications
- Threads and fabrics from a loved one’s clothes
Please note this activity is drop-in but you may wish to spend a couple of hours creating and reminiscing.
This activity is also running at Weaver Hall Museum on 19th September between 11am-4pm.

Partially accessible building but where the event is being held is fully accessible. There is wheelchair access (via platform lifts) to the ground floor, which includes Exhibition Gallery One, the Lecture Theatre, the Roman Galleries, the ground floor of the Period House, the Shop and the accessible toilet. There is no lift to the first floor. On the first floor is the Art Gallery, Silver Gallery, Natural Cheshire Gallery and Exhibition Gallery Two. There is a disabled parking bay outside the museum
This event is aimed at adults and not suitable for young children. Please note the Grosvenor Museum is free and is open on Tuesday to Saturday 10.30am-5pm & Sundays 1pm-4pm. Closed on Mondays.
