Handsworth Museum and Dovecote
St Mary's Parish Centre, Handsworth Main Road, Handsworth, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S13 9BZ
Our museum boasts a diverse collection of local history and memorabilia, including a 1613 copy of the King James Bible, tithe maps, local records, intriguing displays, and historical games available for interaction. It also features an exquisite eighteenth-century dovecote room, exemplifying architectural heritage accessible right in our community. The lovely Handsworth New Silver Holly tree stands on the Old Rectory lawn. Behind it is a holly hedge said to contain thirteen varieties, a legacy of the once-renowned Handsworth nurseries of Fisher Son & Sibray.
