Hard Hat Tours - Lowestoft Town Hall
Lowestoft Town Hall, High Street, Hamilton House, Lowestoft, Suffolk, NR32 1HU
There is much excitement surrounding the regeneration of Lowestoft's Town Hall. Dating back to 1857 this magnificent building with its Italianate facade and clocktower has sat vacant since 2015 and the loss of the activity it generated has been keenly felt locally.
Lowestoft's Town Hall has always symbolised the towns civic pride and history and holds a commanding position on the towns Historic High Street. This ambitious project to bring the Town Hall back to life as a community asset is due for completion early 2027 and will include a Heritage Hub celebrating the rich history of Lowestoft , a cafe , creative spaces , co working space and a newly added event space. Already agreed to take up residence in the Town Hall are Lowestoft's Registry office and with opportunities to get married beneath the stunning stained glass of the Council Chamber that really will be a marriage made in heaven. Refurbished and re imagined for a new era the Town Hall will celebrate heritage and embrace the future to invigorate and drive footfall towards the Historic High Street and other Heritage sites.
