A tranquil wooded garden, surrounded by historic parkland, with a delightful walled garden at its heart. National Trust gardens open for free on Saturday 12 September.

Hare Hill offers a tranquil space to escape, explore and unwind, away from the hustle and bustle. The Walled Garden provides a picturesque backdrop for a picnic outdoors and a perfect spot for watching the clouds roll by. Get closer to nature and venture to the bird hide, an ideal spot to start any outdoor wildlife adventure. To burn off some energy, let little legs loose in the natural woodland play area, where they can build, climb, balance and let their imaginations run wild. Take the time to meander the pathways and discover the vast array of plants, flowers, shrubs, and trees around every corner in this secluded, secret garden.

Head to the Welcome Building first to get your visit started. Our friendly Welcome Team will give you a brief history of the gardens, points and plants of interest and show you where everything is. You will also find our pre-loved bookshop in the Welcome Building and you can also pick up a brew to go from here, as well as ice cream, snacks and cold drinks. As a Conservation Charity, every sip savoured and snack munched, helps us to look after this special place for nature and for people.

Visitors are welcome to bring picnics but must ensure all litter is taken home with you.
Dogs not allowed in the gardens. Assistance Dogs only.
Please leave all balls, scooters, frisbees and bikes in the car.
