Britain's 1st Norman castle of 1066. Home to 8,000 years of settlements, this ancient monument site now houses a picturesque ruin that is surrounded by panoramic sea views and a wild variety of plants and animals.

Hastings Castle is home to regular cultural and historic events.
We will be opening our gates for free on our Heritage Open Day and will have a talking tour and kids activity trail available on the day.

There are some refreshments on site or visit the West Hill Kiosk just around the corner for more.

As an open air historic site, the ground is uneven and there is no shelter from weather so please come prepared.

See our website for more details.
