'Heritage Heverland Festival' - Launch and Open Day

An open day with a talk, screenings, displays and activities about Haveringland's Heritage- especially the Festival Church and Community Hub,a Victorian rebuild and recent repair and improvement project. Fun times for all the family!

On Saturday 13th, our launch day, enjoy:

* Launch of a new Church Guide and Children's Trail to add to the tour available on your 'phone.

* 2pm- 'Diagonal Skintlings & Agitated Cats '- a talk and displays about Haveringland Church- its historic architecture and recent repairs and improvements project to create a 'Festival Church' and Community Hub.

*Screenings of a narrated talk 'Haveringland Hall- paradise lost?' (10am and 3pm) the history of the 3 Halls, the people and building), and 'Wartime Village'- a film about a puppet project with local school children and about life in Haveringland in the First World War (11am and 1pm).

Alongside this, on our launch day and throughout the Festival you will also be able to explore;

* Interactive 'Heritage Hub' to find out more about Haveringland's fascinating stories, local jigsaws and a 'Build our Church' model

* 'Lego of something'- an opportunity to use building bricks to invent your own Church- something for all ages!

* 'Brassed off'- find out about Church brasses and have a go at taking rubbings from a child-sized set typical of medieval Churches.

* 'Church Visions'- an exhibition of paintings of Haveringland Church, including those painted on a special community art day earlier in the year.

* 'Creative Corbels'- a quiz to see if you can find a selection of the wonderful faces in the Church and give us some ideas about their names and roles!
