Discover Bucks Museum
Discover Bucks Musuem, 9 Church Street, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, HP20 2QP
Discover Bucks Museum, in the historic heart of Aylesbury, is a family friendly museum telling the story of the people and landscapes of Buckinghamshire, from 200 million years ago to today. In our main galleries we showcase the best of Bucks heritage: archaeology, social history, natural history, geology, art, costumes and photographs. We also house the famous Lenborough Hoard, one of the largest hoards of Anglo-Saxon silver coins ever found and an amazing new find of a very rare hoard of Roman bronze objects from the Chilterns.
Visit our exiting exhibition, The SAXONS which brings together extraordinary archaeological discoveries to tell powerful human stories. Through real artefacts, immersive displays, and vivid storytelling, the exhibition reveals how people lived, fought, believed, and were remembered over 1,300 years ago.
Finally get hands on in The Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery, packed full of amazing exhibits.
This unique Gallery, housed in a charming old coach house, is a short walk across the courtyard from the main museum building. The Gallery is on two floors and from the entrance foyer you can either go directly into the Discover Gallery or take the stairs up to the Imagination Gallery on the first floor. You can also, like Charlie and Willy Wonka, travel through space in the Great Glass Elevator between the two floors.
