An easy guided stroll around the country village of Fishlake which is over 1000 years old.

An easy gentle stroll around the lovely village of Fishlake, starting and ending at the Old Butcher's Cafe. The village, which is over 1000 years old has some wonderfully preserved buildings and areas of heritage. We shall visit the mediaeval church, the old school, the old river, the windmill, the pinfold, the old chapel and the customs house. Learn about the Dutchman who drained the Isle of Axholme and Hatfield Chase by straightening the river Don. Understand why the village gained the nickname of the 'Monkey Village' and why there are no lake in Fishlake!

The Old Butcher's Cafe will be open after the walk for drinks, snacks and light meals
