New Ashgate Gallery Trust Ltd, Waggon Yard, Farnham, Surrey, GU9 7PS
Saturday 20 September 2025, 2 pm
Starts at New Ashgate Gallery | Meet at 1.50 pm | Free - booking required
Join musician and councillor Brodie Mauluka for a special guided walking tour exploring Farnham's hidden craft heritage. This experience uncovers lesser-known stories of craft and making that have shaped the town's identity, past and present.
Discover how materials such as clay, wood, textiles and metalwork connect to themes of migration, belief and community. Along the way, participants will be invited to reflect on the lives and skills of under-recognised craftspeople whose influence remains visible in Farnham today.
The tour is suitable for all ages and offers new perspectives on Farnham's status as England's first World Craft Town.
While visiting the gallery, you can also see artist Susie Lidstone, known for her intricate watercolours of Farnham's historic buildings and spaces, painting live in the gallery from 11 am to 4 pm.
Organised by New Ashgate Gallery.
Supported by a Heritage Open Days microgrant, with thanks to the National Trust and People's Postcode Lottery.
