Hinton Admiral House

The house is a family home and contains furniture, paintings and memorabilia which have been collected by the Meyrick family over the past few hundred years.

Directions:

The entrance to the house is located on the A35, about ten miles south of Lyndhurst. Driving south from Lyndhurst, the house can be found on the right hand side of the road, just beyond the B3055 (to the left) and St Michael and All Angels Church (to the right). Alternatively, the house is two miles north from the roundabout at Somerford (keeping Sainsburys and Stewarts Garden Centre to your left) and passing the Cat and Fiddle also to your left. The entrance is marked by a semi circle of iron railings on top of a white stone balustrade. There is a lodge house to the right of the gates. Visitors will be given further details about how to reach the house when they are confirmed on a tour.

The house is located in a fairly rural location. It is only accessible via a flight of steps and the tour itself involves stairs and is not suitable for wheelchairs or for those with walking difficulties. Tickets are extremely limited and pre-booking is strongly advised although not essential. If arriving without a pre-booked ticket it is advised to email [email protected] to check on availability on the tours.

Accessibility details

The tour includes stairs and is not suitable for wheelchairs or those with walking difficulties. It is really only accessible by car as the house is a long way from the entrance.

no photography of any sort, including drones, is allowed. Visitors must leave their cameras, mobile telephones and any other electronic equipment in their cars when they park.
