History of South Court (Sunninghill) and guided tour

A rare opportunity to see inside South Court - the grant Victorian House on South Walks in Dorchester and which is now the home of Sunninghill School.
This one-off event will include an introductory talk about the history of the site from Jeremy Pope (great grandson of Alfred Pope who built the house in 1893) followed by a tour around the house and grounds.
The talk will also cover the expansion of Dorchester during the late 19th Century following the arrival of the railway and how both South Court and the Eldridge Pope brewery were linked to the economic growth of the town.
Followed by refreshments.
