Holy Trinity Church Rayleigh Flower Festival and open church

A church has been on the site since Saxon times. The present church has a Norman chancel; a bell tower built in the 15th century, including stone taken from Rayleigh castle when it fell into disuse; and a Tudor brick porch used as the first school in Rayleigh.
Recent work to refurbish the interior was completed in 2022, largely funded with the support of The Friends of Holy Trinity Rayleigh ('The Friends'), a small registered charity dedicated to ensuring that Rayleigh’s oldest building will pass to future generations in good repair.
As part of the Heritage Open Days programme, this beautiful building is opening its doors for a flower festival with floral displays created and sponsored by local groups and individuals. The flower festival has been organised to mark the 30th Anniversary of 'The Friends'.
Tread in the footsteps of the parishioners from Rayleigh who were baptised, married and buried here and who contributed to to the life of this ancient church. They were farmers, millers, shopkeepers, bell ringers, saddlers, clergy, labourers, railway workers, builders, carters and soldiers who gave their lives. We invite you to learn more of their everyday stories.
Refreshments , handmade cards and secondhand books will be available for sale in the Parish Centre behind the church

- Holy Trinity Church sits at the top of Rayleigh High Street. There is a car park at the rear of the church in Rectory Garth. From the High Street or Webster's Way, take the B1013 towards Hockley. Rectory Garth is first left. From B1013 Hockley direction, Rectory Garth is the second turning on right at top of hill as you enter Rayleigh. There are also several local public car parks nearby (free after 1.00pm on Saturdays and on Sundays). The nearest rail station is Rayleigh (RLG) and the High Street is served by several bus routes run by Arriva and First Bus.

Accessibility details
Step free access into the church via car park entrance to Parish Centre in Rectory Garth. Within the church there is a ramp on the north side of the nave to enable access to and from chancel. There is one step down into the side chapel from chancel and one step down from side chapel into nave

Refreshments, including delicious home made cake will be available in the main hall of the Parish Centre behind the church. Handmade cards and secondhand books will be available for sale.
