Lady Margaret Hall
Lady Margaret Hall, Norham Gardens, Oxford, Oxfordshire, OX2 6QA
Lady Margaret Hall is a pioneering Oxford University college. In October 1879 nine women arrived at LMH and became the first to receive an Oxford education. We admitted men in 1979 and, in 2016, became the first Oxbridge college to establish a Foundation Year for under-represented students. Our academic community has been located in Norham Gardens since our foundation in tranquil grounds and gardens, which stretch to the river Cherwell. Here you can discover where those first nine women lived, and where they and subsequent generations of pioneers have studied and socialised.
