Lecture on Thomas Rickman - Original Architect

Thomas Rickman was the original Architect of our "Cast Iron' Church. He, with the Iron Founder, John Cragg were responsible for the first prefabricated churches in the world.

Rickman was responsible for the first ever cast iron-framed church window in Birkenhead Priory.

The church is set in a beautiful and leafy conservation area. It was the original building there, so the area, known as 'St Michael's' takes its name from the church.
