Join us for free short tours, talks, and activities at Leeds Industrial Museum at Armley Mills on selected dates of Heritage Open Days!
Tours of the grounds and gardens, focussed on the wildlife of the mill, and plants used for textile dyeing, taking approx. 30 minutes. At selected times through the first weekend of the festival: 1130 and 1430 on Friday 11; 1230 and 1430 on Saturday 12; 1230 and 1430 on Sunday 13 September 2026.
Tours of the recreated 'cottage' rooms: enjoy a relaxed 20minute tour and social history talk looking at the historical domestic and professional roles of women in the home. 1130 and 1430 on Fri 18, and 1230 and 1430 on Sun 20 September.

Why not pay and stay and look around the museum, have refreshments, and enjoy learning more about the city of 1000 trades!
Donations are welcome. Tour does not included entry to the museum.
Also on the first Friday of the festival Archipelago Arts Collective will be offering free creative activities inspired by our new exhibition in collaboration, Ludd in the Machine, exploring workers' rights from the Luddite Uprisings to AI.
On Friday 18 September we will also be hosting a talk from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, in our café at 11am. Duration approx

Leeds Industrial Museum is located inside a Georgian woollen mill. The locomotive sheds remain closed due to developments. Railway Gallery due to open Summer 2027. Museum carpark closed for Yorkshire Water scheme - Alternative parking available (see website).
All are welcome to the short tours, with an interest level aimed at adults and children 12+. Booking preferred, but if space on the day walk-ins welcome. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission talk on Fri 18 has been kindly organised by the CWGC. This event is not bookable, with ample seating for up to 50 people.
