Explore the history of the Lickey Hills, including a visit to the Bilberry Hill Gun Proof Range

Over the weekend you will be able to explore the history of the Lickey Hills. There will also be children’s activities.

Displays - In the in the Visitor Centre showing:
• Architecture: Notable buildings and structures in our area
• The Lickey Hills in the Second World - Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the end of the War.
• How the Country Park and Cofton Park came about and was managed
• Watercolours by Elijah Walton’s of the area in the 1850s
• A model showing how the WW1 Bilberry Hill Gun Proof Range worked
• Maps from our collection, including the 1840 tithe map of the local area

Bilberry Hill Gun Proof Range
This is ‘hidden’ in the Warren Lane Quarry and normally closed to visitors. The Quarry will be accessible, and guides will show you the WW1 Bilberry Hill Gun Proof Range & explain the site’s geology.

Guided walks
• The Lickey Hills in the Second World War - Saturday 20 Sep, 11.30am- 1/1.30pm.
• Lickey Geology - Sunday 21 Sep, 11am-12.30/1pm
The walks are outdoors within the Country Park, so expect uneven ground, tree roots, mud and slopes. Please wear suitable clothes and footwear – it really can be muddy! Both walks last around 1½ - 2 hours.

Holy Trinity Church
The church will be open to visitors from 2-4pm. There will be guides to answer your questions.
The church is at Warren Lane, a short walking distance from the visitor centre.

There is free car parking, including disabled car parking. Please note that the café in the Visitor centre is closed. Only assistance dogs are allowed in the visitor centre.

School Room and Quarry are wheelchair accessible, but the walks are not. Please be aware that the Quarry has slightly uneven ground and can be muddy.
