Lowestoft Arts Centre. Exhibition of Art. Plus information boards of the heritage of the building
13 St. Peters Street, Lowestoft, Suffolk, NR32 1QA
Lowestoft Arts Centre is located in the triangle marketplace, on the historic old high street of Lowestoft Town. It's north of the town, and the area is connected to the site of The Beach Village, also known as The Grit. There are echoes of the place as you go down to the beach via the score, with a series of steps leading you down to the space where all the homes of the local fishing families lived. The history and model of the beach village can be found in the Heritage Centre, and there are many books written about the history of the area.
It’s a non-profit group of artists, friends, and customers that has been there for 26 years and this year we are celebrating reaching this milestone achievement.
Our late founder was Carolyn Reeder, a local artist, potter, spinner, and weaver.
We hold monthly exhibitions as members can rent the wall for exhibition for the public to view and buy.
The general public is welcome to visit, and we also encourage new members to join us.
The Heritage Open Days for this year’s festival in 2026, will be an exhibition of the theme Everyday Histories in the gallery.
Also we will have information boards and photos.
Please come and discover more about our building with its rich history of heritage, here in Lowestoft,
which dates way back to Tudor times on the East coast of Suffolk.
