MADS Little Theatre
Lord Street, Macclesfield, Cheshire, SK11 6SY
MADS is opening up our Grade II listed building, a 19th century Sunday School, which was refurbished in the early 1980s into a fully functioning 190-seater theatre, for visitors and guided tours. The open day will coincide with the first play of our 2025-2026 season and will give visitors the opportunity to see the building top to bottom - front of house on and back stage - in a state of readiness for the production's last night. We will explain the creative process of how we get shows ready and what that means for our volunteers, as well as tell you more about the building - in line with the Open Day theme of "Architecture".

To experience the whole building would require going up and down quite a lot of stairs. Unfortunately we have no lift. Nevertheless disabled visitors are able to access all the ground floor facilities, including the auditorium.
We plan on having an exhibition on the history of the building and how it was converted from a Victorian Sunday School into a fully functioning modern theatre and performance space.
