Malvern Quaker Meeting House
Quaker Meeting House, 1 Orchard Road, Malvern, Worcestershire, WR14 3DA
Malvern Quakers are known to have been worshipping in the Malvern area since 1858, and were active in Coalbrookdale and other industrial locations in the West Midlands for many decades before that. Malvern Friends came under the influence of Meetings in Hereford and Worcester as well as Friends in Evesham, Tewksbury and Leominster. There are records of early Quakers meeting with George fox (one of the founding Quakers) in Worcester in 1656.
While it’s not always easy to find the stories of Quakers, especially when they were persecuted for not conforming to existing laws and social codes, we can find some stories to tell. The Meeting House in Orchard Road is usually only open to the public for Meeting for Worship and for hired private events. Come to see the Meeting House during the Heritage Open Days, and find out who the Quakers in Malvern were.

The entrance to the Meeting House is up some wide steps. An alternative entrance up a slope is at the back of the building.
The Meeting House is a place of worship and should be treated with respect, but Quakers are cheerful people and welcome enthusiastic visitors. Noise is not a problem!
