Manor Farm Park Heritage Trail
Manor Farm Park, 389 Bristol Road South, Northfield, Birmingham, West Midlands, B31 2AB
A self-guided 2 km Walking Trail visits ten sites of historic interest in and around Manor Farm Park; each site has a QR code which, when scanned on a smartphone, allows visitors to access information about the site on a website. A printed guide and map will be available for self-guided tours but visitors can come on one of the two guided tours which will take place at 1100 and 1400 (booking not necessary).
The park was formerly part of an ancient deer park, then agricultural land and in the early 19th Century became a country estate attached to the Manor House. When George and Elizabeth Cadbury moved into the adjacent Manor House in 1895 they built a farm which included a large wooden barn to host parties for families from the City and Black County, sometimes with 700 people attending. The sites on the trail show visitors how the land was changed to meet the different requirements of its owners before being finally gifted to the City Council for use as a public park forever.
This event is part of Bournville Heritage Open Day 2026 where over a dozen local historic sites will open their doors for free, with tours, activities, exhibitions and much more!
