Would you like to find out about the LGBTQ+ heritage of MK over the last 50 years, and the spaces where the LGBTQ+ community has come together to meet up in safe spaces? Come along to our relaxed heritage walk to find out more.

Our MK LGBTQ+ Heritage Project has uncovered decades of LGBTQ+ community action and social life throughout the city. There have been LGBTQ+ groups, activity and support networks all over the city centre, including: the YMCA, the Point, Church of Christ the Cornerstone, MK Central Library, and many more. Our walk through the city-centre streets will stop at many of these key locations. You will discover: where Q:Space LGBTQ+ centre was based in the early 2000’s; how the community ran Switchboard phone lines in the 1980’s and 90’s; plus about the many pubs, clubs and venues that have been welcoming hosts to queer nightlife and events.

The walk is open to all, and we particularly welcome anyone who has LGBTQ+ memories that they would like to share.
