Join this exciting walking tour of the Museum on the Move project and explore the rich history of Haslingden through the stories relating to its local businesses. The journey begins at Haslingden Library, where an exhibition of historical objects related to local businesses sets the stage for a tour up and down Deardengate, stopping at each participating business, which features a window display with fascinating facts and stories about the architecture of the building and its past.
This exciting project is a collaboration between The Whitaker Museum and Art Gallery and The Haslingden Big Lamp Project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Rossendale Borough Council, aiming to uncover and celebrate the unique heritage of the area.

This is a walking tour outdoors up and down a hill. The library starting point is accessible and has accessible toilets and the walk will be on the pavement. However, we will be outside on the street on a busy road with the need to cross the road at various points.
The tour will meet in the foyer of Haslingden Library and return there at the end of the tour. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather.
