On Monday 15 September only, admission to Knole will be free for all. This includes to the showrooms, Gatehouse Tower and car park.
Showrooms and Gatehouse Tower are open 1100-1600, last entry 1530. The Brewhouse Café is the perfect place to soak up Knole’s historic atmosphere over a drink and a bite to eat. Tucked away in Green Court are two shops just waiting to be discovered. The gift shop is a browser’s delight, with a range of items to tempt you, or lose yourself amongst the shelves of timeless and modern-day classics in Knole’s bookshop. The café, courtyards and shop are open 1000-1700.
We will also be offering a free guided walk - 'The Changing Faces of Knole: An archaeology walk' - where you can discover the fascinating history of the parkland at Knole. It also includes a look inside the historic icehouse from the newly installed viewing platform. The tour will run 1130-1215 and will start in Stone Court. Please meet in Stone Court by 1120 if you like to join the tour. There are 12 spaces allocated on a first come first served basis on the day.
Pre-booking your free admisison is recommended to guarantee entry and booking for Monday 15 September will go live Thursday 21 August. The booking slots are for your arrival time to Knole, not the entry time into the showrooms or Gatehouse Tower.

Showrooms partially accessible (wheelchairs users can only access Great Hall). Gatehouse Tower not accessible to wheelchairs due to a steep, spiral staircase. Baby changing facilities are available in the two toilet locations (Green Court and conservation studio building); there are no adult changing facilities. 'The Changing Face of Knole: An Archaeology Tour' takes place in the parkland and goes off of hard standing paths so is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.
