For over 125 years, Sandilands was a golf course, offering sweeping green spaces and breath-taking coastal views to the local community and visitors alike. Though the fairways are no longer in play, the story of Sandilands stretches back much further, and its connection to people, land, and sea is deeper than ever.

Join National Trust’s Nature Conservation Adviser, Carl Hawke, for a special guided walk exploring Sandilands’ fascinating past. Nestled within the historic Grazing Marshes, Sandilands once formed part of an extensive salt marsh, centuries before the first tee was ever struck.

Carl will take you on a journey through the layers of history that shaped Sandilands, from its medieval roots to its golfing heritage, and into its exciting future as a haven where nature and people can flourish side by side.

This walk offers an opportunity to connect with the spirit of Sandilands, past, present, and future.
