Newbiggin By The Sea Historic Fishing Village dates back to 11th Century and is home of the Historic Woman Launchers Oldest working Lifeboat Station in the UK 13th Century St Bartholomew's Church Sean Henrys Couple.

Discover Newbiggin Maritime Centre, home of the Mary Joicey Lifeboat Northumbria Fishing Coble 'Girl Anne' and Newbiggin Rocket House, one of the earliest Rocket Houses in the UK. Built in 1866 Fully Restored in 2017 Exhibition to celebrate the brave volunteers of the Newbiggin Lifeboat Brigade.

The Museum is divided into three galleries.

The Fishing Gallery contains the fishing coble 'Girl Anne' and a selection of equipment associated with fishing.

The Community Gallery contains a selection of artefacts depicting the social history of Newbiggin by the Sea including the Mining Community, and there is a twenty minute video illustrating the life of the Fishing Community during World War Two.

The Mary Joicey Hall contains Newbiggin's last all weather lifeboat and associated life boat information and there is a moving six minute video presentation illustrating a lifeboat rescue.
