The Museum will be open to explore with many new artefacts not previously seen. There will be an exhibition to look at. Our Children’s activities ("Investigations Into The Past") will be advertised on the website nearer the time.

Newport Pagnell Historical Society (NPHS) was founded in 1984 by a small group interested in the buildings and people of the town and surrounding area and concerned in preserving the past for the future. By the 1990’s the thriving society, by its own fund raising efforts and with the generous help of the Harry Middleton Gift, was able to purchase and refurbish Chandos Hall and open it both as a Museum and the Society’s headquarters. The Society currently has around 110 members who normally meet twice a month and is active in any aspects of the town and further afield including the preservation of historical buildings many of which have been sadly lost in the past.

The museum is opened during the year all dates are advertised on the website.

The membership fee is £12 (18+). Junior memberships are free.

Talk Evenings take place at URC on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month September through to May. On these evenings there is also a raffle and refreshments available. All welcome.

We also have afternoon meetings once a month for members and their guests.

During the summer we organise local walks for members and their guests.

Recently we have introduced a children’s membership and currently have 47 members.
