The 18th century bells of St. Wilfrid's Northenden have been ringing out for over 275 years, the impressive Victorian re-build of St. Wilfrid's was completed 150 years ago, it is the 125th anniversary of the death of the great Victorian reformer, philanthropist and railway entrepreneur Sir Edward Watkin, and 100 years ago the nearby Wythenshawe Hall, home of the famous Tatton family, was handed over to Manchester City Council.
This year we are commemorating these important milestones through displays, bell demonstrations, and historical talks. Come and join us to explore Northenden and Wythenshawe's rich heritage!
