Not so Oddfellows
The Vecta District Lodge of Oddfellows, 20 St. Thomas' Square, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 1SG
We have looked through our record cards to find out what Oddfellows were doing to earn a living in times past. From butchers, bakers, soldiers and sailors to a men's room attendant and a bookbinder, there are a huge variety of occupations included in our records. We have researched some of these jobs to find out how our members were living and the importance of a society like Oddfellows, in the days before Unions and the NHS.
