Join us for Dorset Heritage Week with special tour and talks of the Fort’s Cold War Nuclear Bunker!

Step inside Nothe Fort’s Cold War bunker for a special Heritage Open Days event. Explore normally closed underground areas and discover how the fort was to operate during one of the tensest periods of the 20th century.
Enjoy short talks by Matt Barrett, an expert on Nothe Fort’s nuclear bunker and UK Cold War defences, and Bev Harrison, former RAF and Royal Observer Corps, sharing first‑hand insight and knowledge.
Talk Times:
Talks will be in the Engine Room at 1130, 1230, and 1400.
There will be items from our Cold War Collection on display during the talk.

- Price of admission to the Fort or an Annual Pass will need to be purchased first. Talk tickets are free and can be booked on the day on arrival – first come first served.

Accessibility Mobility Scooters and Wheelchairs We have an accessible route into Reception, please ask for assistance and directions. There are various ramps located around the Parade Ground. There is a lift at the far end of the Parade Ground which can take you to either the Magazine Level or the Ramparts as required. We have wheelchairs available around the Nothe Fort.
