Discover 500 years of history at Nunnington Hall across two free entry days. Explore the house, gardens and learn more about the ongoing work involved in caring for the collections and preserving this historic hall for the future.

Head outdoors to enjoy the late-summer beauty of Nunnington's organic gardens. Colour-filled borders, vegetable plots and the orchard are full of seasonal interest, while the River Rye winds peacefully through the grounds. As the seasons begin to change, look out for the first hints of autumn colour and enjoy a slower pace among one of Yorkshire's most charming manor gardens.

Step inside the hall to discover the stories of the families who made Nunnington their home. Atmospheric rooms, collections and treasures reveal centuries of history, while the celebrated Carlisle Collection of miniature rooms showcases extraordinary craftsmanship and attention to detail. See conservation work in action, explore displays of conservation tools and techniques, and follow a trail through the house to learn about some of the challenges involved in caring for and preserving objects for the future.

Pause for a seasonal treat in the tea garden café before browsing in the second-hand bookshop.

Families can explore the grounds together and enjoy seasonal activities throughout the year. Dogs are welcome in the gardens and grounds but cannot enter the hall.
