Oak House just outside the centre of West Bromwich is a remarkable survival and has recently been awarded Grade I status underlining its architectural importance.
The Turton family built Oak House in the 1620s having moved from Rowley Regis at the end of the 16th century. As the family wealth and status grew the house was extended in the 1630s and 1650s.
