Open Day at the Chapel

Join us for our open day to see the beautiful Chapel at the heart of the Wisbech General Cemetery

Saved and restored by the Wisbech Society, we would like to show you the Chapel building and its story. We have information panels on the natural environment we protect, the Commonwealth War Graves we look after and some of the people that are buried in the cemetery. Telling the story of the town as much as of their lives and families.
The building itself is an interesting example of restoration - we have art glass in the windows and a part--glass roof, recommended by the funders to bring a new element to the building. The floor is a cross between old and new as well.
The Friends of the Cemetery keep the grounds maintained as a nature haven - they are also open for Heritage Open Days.
