Step into the rhythm of daily life in medieval Northampton.

The Church Of The Holy Sepulchre invites you to experience what a typical day at church might have felt like in medieval time. Far from being quiet or empty, churches were busy living spaces at the heart of the community.

As you explore, you’ll learn about the people who kept the church running. The bell ringer marking the hours, the sexton caring for the building, the candle maker lighting the space, the priest and choir shaping worship, and the ordinary people who came and went throughout the day.

Along the way, you’ll be invited to notice the sights, sounds, and even smells that once filled this space.

Guides will be available to answer any questions you have about our unique building, or you can explore at your own pace.
