Osler House
William Osler House, Osler Road, Headington, Oxford, Oxfordshire, OX3 9BL
Located in Headington in the grounds of the John Radcliffe hospital, this art deco venue is steeped in history. The venue is named after the highly regarded Canadian doctor, Sir William Osler, who is widely considered the father of modern medicine. He pioneered bringing students out of lecture halls and taught instead at the patient’s bedside to enhance learning and nurture experience. He also created the first-ever residential training programmes for doctors.
When not in use as a venue for workshops, meetings and garden parties, the University’s medical students still enjoy this historic building as their clubhouse.
