Otley Museum presents “Foundations and Facades” for the theme: “Architecture”. One of the most prolific architects of his time was Alfred Marshall (1850-1932). He designed many properties in Otley ranging from terraced houses, properties on Birdcage Walk, Chevin Hall, chapels, church halls and the Clock tower in the Market Place. Also on display in the courtroom will be architectural features of the Parish Church, and Otley Bridge. There will be a continuous presentation on screen, with notes. All welcome.
Otley Courthouse
There will be hourly guided tours of the Victorian former Courthouse, Police Station and Cell Block throughout the day. 10am, 11am 12 noon, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm. Maximum 8 people per group. Please book for guided tours.

Demonstrate your building and architectural skills! Use traditional wooden blocks and design suggestions created by the Wharfedale Men’s Shed. Suitable for all ages. No booking required.
Capturing Otley’s Heritage – Two Pen and Ink Drawing Workshops, with Emma-Jayne Emmott
Workshop 1 11am to 12.45pm
Workshop 2 1.15pm to 3pm.
An art workshop celebrating the town’s rich architectural heritage through drawing. . Each workshop is open to all age groups. Using pen and ink, participants will create line drawings of Otley’s historic buildings creating a collaborativer standing artwork of the town. Booking required.
