A talk tracing Jesmond Library's journey from its visionary design in the 1960s to its transformation into a thriving community-run space.

We'll explore rare archive findings from architect Harry Faulkner-Brown, view original drawings and the opening day pamphlet and hear the remarkable story of how the community took over the building following council closure. The talk will also look ahead to the library's future, highlighting the ongoing energy retrofit project and efforts to enhance sustainability and comfort in this much loved public space.
