Between 1000 and 1600. come along to find out more about the church and it's historic churchyard. Join us and have a cuppa whilst listening to the entertainment during the day - there will be music and information on the 'home' of football and the architecture of the building. You can also take a guided tour of the graveyard and, if you are tracing your ancestors, there is graveyard mapping available to help you!
Stunning stained glass windows designed by a student of William Morris, monuments to the romantic poet William Wordsworth, a medieval stone altar, 33 carved bosses from 1375 and an 80 foot high tower with 8 bells are just some of the treasures you will find at St Johns, as well as a warm welcome from our friendly team of volunteers and historians.
You can also help us to re-roof the nave, by supporting our Church Roof Appeal - full details of how you can donate will be available on the day or from the Church from 1st September.
