A photographic exhibition of daily working life through the ages. Looking at the ordinary lives, trades, and routines of everyday people.

You can see how ordinary people in Berkhamsted made a living from Roman times to more recent industries. Visitors can learn about lost trades and see how self-contained our town was in times gone by. There will be photographs and illustrations with explanations. You will find out where ordinary people worked and discover the location of forgotten industries and trades.

Directions:
St Peter's Church is on the corner of the High Street and Castle Street. Entrance to the exhibition is via the South door accessible from the High Street. Although the exhibition is on everyday, visitors should be mindful and respect other events that may be taking place in the church

Accessibility details

The church is open, but visitors to the exhibition are requested to be respectful of church service timings and other events that may be booked in the church. There is limited disability parking near the church. Parking is available in the multi-storey car park in the centre of town about a 5 minute walk from the church and limited paid parking on the road.

Additional information

The exhibition is unmanned but checked periodically. We would appreciate any feedback on the exhibition to be added to our feedback forms. Visitors should be aware that a market is on on Saturdays and Wednesdays so the town will be extra busy.
