Join Pontefract Civic Society on a guided walk to explore the important and wonderful world of liquorice and its history in Pontefract.

The sites of some of the liquorice producers remain around the town centre, though for the rest you will have to use your imagination to understand how extensive and important liquorice was in Pontefract. A map of the former liquorice producers will be provided. The walk will start at the Castle, where the liquorice plant is growing and will end at the Museum, where liquorice root is displayed.
