Poynton Jemmers Performances
Poynton Town Council, Civic Hall, Park Lane, Poynton, Stockport, Cheshire, SK12 1RB
Poynton Jemmers have a 50 year history in the Town, beginning in 1975 when Anne Franklin had the idea of starting a ritual dance team with the objective of reviving traditional women’s dances. Now, all this time later, the group perform a repertoire of dances from the 19th and early 20th century, alongside others they have created themselves. They have had the same kit since they began, and are proud of being one of the only, if not the only, women’s morris teams that has never changed their kit.
For Heritage Open Days, they'll be performing their traditional dances along Park Lane, alongside a mini pop up display on their history. Locations to be confirmed nearer the time.
