From a royal Anglo-Norman timber hall to a substantial stone-built Prebend attached to Lincoln Cathedral.

 

Dating back to 1200 AD, and the oldest house in Northamptonshire, we will be examining the architectural alterations from its insception from a Royal timber hall to the present day. We will also examine the various styles of wall covering, in one instance by using postcards instead of wallpaper.

Directions:
From the south, take the A1 exit at the A605 to Elton and follow the signs to Nassington. From the North take the A1, off at Wansford follow the sign to Nassington. From the east, take the A47 turn off at Wansford and follow the signs to Nassington.

Information about Nassington with our Blue Plaque trail will be available in the tithe barn. So there will be plenty to see whilst waiting for a Manor tour. The Dovecot will be open, and the gardens are also quite extensive.
