Precincts and Gardens Tour
Canterbury Cathedral,, 11 The Precincts, C, Canterbury, Kent, CT12EH
The grounds of Canterbury Cathedral, known as the Precincts, are found behind the Cathedral Gate. These contain ruins of the Benedictine monastery which was once on this site. Join us to uncover traces of centuries of history as we learn more about the story of the Precincts on a guided tour that will take us from the Norman Conquest to the 21st Century. We will also go into the three public gardens on site, the Herbarium, a new imagining of the monks' herb garden created in 2005, the Friends' Garden with its monument to the East Kent Regiment the Buffs, and the Memorial Garden, once home to the Canon's Bowling Green and now a beautiful place for remembrance and reflection.
