Explore 100-year-old presses, try your hand at printmaking, and learn about its rich history. Meet printmakers, see live demos, and support our young persons’ bursary with our fundraising print sale.

Step into the world of traditional printmaking and discover how centuries-old techniques continue to thrive in contemporary art. At Double Elephant Print Workshop, we invite you to explore our fully equipped studio, home to printing presses that are over 100 years old. This Heritage Open Day, drop into the working studio of professional printmakers and experience the rich heritage of print as a form of communication and reproduction.

Try your hand at various printmaking techniques using a range of papers and see how these tactile, hands-on processes are still used in powerful, creative ways today. Learn about the origins of printmaking, from woodcuts to etching, and how the medium has evolved over time.

Chat with our printmaking tutors and members, find out more about our work in the community, and discover opportunities to get involved—whether you’re curious about a course, studio membership, or just want to learn something new.

As part of the event, we’ll be holding a fundraising sale of original prints made by our community of artists to raise money for a bursary supporting young people in accessing printmaking opportunities.

All ages welcome, no experience needed—just drop in and get involved!
